Penteo 7 Pro Suite30% Off introductory offer: $699
The Penteo 7 Pro Suite provides the most comprehensive set of 5.1 and 7.1 surround upmixing tools for professional sound design & re-recording mixers when running on Avid’s Pro Tools. Using Penteo’s award winning algorithm, Penteo 7 Pro delivers the highest quality surround sound that is fully immersive with wide & discrete channel separation, while retaining the low frequency “slam” and front channel “punch.” Penteo delivers a clean upmix with no unwanted sonic artifacts because we do not introduce any phasing as part of our process. As a result, Penteo folds back 100% ITU to the original stereo track perfectly. Penteo 7 Pro Suite also contains built in presets and DAW automation to speed sound design workflows.

New features in the Penteo 7 Pro Suite:

  • New DSP adds greater immersive sound and channel separation & width
  • Upmix stereo to 5.1 & 7.1 – now you can upmix stereo to 7.1 in addition to 5.1. All six of Penteo’s time saving preset Active Modes can be used with any Penteo instance.
  • For the scoring stage – time saving 3.0/4.0/5.0/7.0 non-LFE bussed solutions.
  • Audiosuite feature enabled for latency-free rendering for 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 5.1, 7.0, 7.1.
  • Advanced AudioSuite workflow for all channel formats allowing for fast & easy synchronous rendering to any destination track or region in the mix.
  • Expanded fader ranges – With +/-50% more range, you now have complete control over the Center, Side Surrounds and Rear Surround Faders.

  • Native AAX32/64 bit support for Avid’s Audio eXtension (AAX) for true 64 bit processing. As a result, Penteo running on AAX64 can run 52% more Penteo instances compared to RTAS.
  • More intuitive interface – Penteo 7 Pro has a new graphic design with a cleaner, more intuitive look that makes navigation easier.
  • Improved usage controls – Penteo 7 Pro now has a choice of circular or vertical knob drag control options so that a sound designer can select the most natural feeling knob movement. • "Penteo was a life-saver for a feature film I just finished. We had a scene that involved Muddy Waters playing live in a concert hall, using a live stereo recording from the 1980's. Penteo’s hard centre setting gave us the opportunity to get close to the singer as we wanted and even lower the level of the voice without lowering the rest of the music. I love Penteo 7 Pro’s latency-free Audiosuite capabilities and 7.1 upmix." Gert Janssen, Sound Designer & Owner, Sound@Work Studios, Belgium
    • "I’m really excited about the release of Penteo 7 Pro.  With the extended range of the fader controls, I’m able to get a better balance of the material.  I can pull back on the surround channels so they provide a presence to the front.  Or I can push the surround channels on certain stems and bring them out in the room more.  The addition of Audiosuite versions for Pro Tools has been a big help.  If I decide to keep the plugin settings static and not automate any parameters for that cue, I’ll Audiosuite it.  The workflow to go from stereo to surround is very fast and it helps with archiving since you now have a surround version of the cue if you ever need to go back to the project and don’t have your ilok with you.  Another bonus, there’s no longer a processing delay in the path." Tom Marks, Re-Recording Mixer at Warner Bros.
    • "The Penteo 7 Pro Suite retains all of the flexibility of Penteo 4 Pro, along with the intuitive GUI, but adds the option to upmix to 7.1 and to use AudioSuite too. We have Dolby Atmos on our stage and the ability to fill the 7.1 Bed from a stereo track is fantastic. The Plug-In allows for separate control of the side surrounds and the rear surround levels. This is particularly handy in Dolby Atmos where the surround speakers used by the Bed are full frequency. Now that the surrounds have as much weight as the screen speakers it is important to have  control of that energy off the screen in case it becomes overwhelming. To create such an immersive 7.1 sound field from a stereo is incredible. I’m looking forward to using Penteo 7 Pro Suite on our next Dolby Atmos mix." Adam Daniel – Re-Recording Mixer, Point1Post, London, UK
    • "When I do a Dolby Atmos mix, I’ve come up with a nice workflow for mixing the score if I only have stereo stems.  I’ll create a stereo bus that the source tracks are assigned to.  I’ll create two stereo aux tracks with that bus as the input to both.  The first aux track will get a Penteo stereo-to-7.1 plugin and be bussed to the 7.1 Bed.  The second aux track will get a Penteo stereo-to-7.0 plugin followed by a 7.0 surround reverb.  Dial in the reverb settings and adjust the wet/dry control to taste.  I send the output of this track to six mono Atmos object tracks that are panned overhead.  The center channel output of the track is not used.  I’ll adjust the settings for both Penteo plugins and mix the overhead channels into the 7.1 Bed." Tom Marks, Re-Recording Mixer at Warner Bros.
